1st report from Norfolk Hit n Run (Tuesday)

It was a good night to be in Norfolk.

Prince hit the stage, literally, about 10:30 and did not let up for two hours or so. Millenia had barely cleared the stage when he walked on to the riser, checked his nails, and ripped into "Purple Rain." The mix of old and new songs (cant really do a set list justice today), mixed in with some cool new arrangements of often performed favorites kept the crowd hyped.

This is my third Hit-n-Run show and by far the best. "Come On" was the highlight for me, aside from being astonished that he appeared to give an autograph in the middle of a Najee solo.

A female passed up what looked like the CD cover for The Hits/B-sides along with a pen and the man wrote out a long message.

It looked like Prince enjoyed having Mike Scott around, too. The reverend was even using the leopard stratocaster for about ten minutes. Both men enjoyed exceptional nights on the guitar.

Baldheads set included a fantastic guitar display by both MS and his bandmate.

Good luck Baltimore.
