Prince mentioned on BBC World TV

Here in India I was flipping channels and I saw that some show related to Music was being shown on BBC World, the name of the show was World Beat; and the time of the TV show was from 6PM to 7PM Indian Standard Time.

I caught the show in the middle and when I saw it Chuck D was talking to the camera about political messages in Music, he also said that food, shelter and housing came first to the masses and then Music. Then started a nice commentary on Underground Music, House, Hip Hop and Techno. The voice in the background of the show also commented that when techno first emerged in Detroit, it became more acceptable in Europe than in the US. Then De La Soul were interviewed for a short time and their album was referred to as the Sgt. Pepper of Rap.

Then came our man PRINCE, basically the reference of Prince was not about his music but about the kind of impact House/underground had on mainstream, they showed a live performance clip of Sign O' the Times and said that Prince brilliantly showcased (in the song SOTT) that how Rock n' Roll could also use that kind of Music. They also showed the song "Back to life, back to reality" by Soul II Soul saying that it was a hit on both sides of the Atlantic.
