4th report from Chicago Launch party

Hi,

I just wanted to give a brief report on the Chicago NPG Music Club launch party. It was off the hook!

It was a wonderful night at Chicago's Park West. This night started with a DJ spinning some hot tunes, but the festivities really didn't begin until Fonky Bald Heads took the stage, they played a nice set, and were followed by Millenia, who were also pretty good.

There were computers set up for people to view the website as well. My friends and I got a big thirll when we were sitting at our booth next to the engineer, sound board, and the camera that was filming the show, where Prince appeared during the Bald Heads' performance and began mixing the sound. Most people in the club, which was packed, didn't even no he was there as all the lights were off, but my friends and I couldn't take our eyes off him! He was wearing a red NPG outfit with a black coat, he was as sexy as ever. When the Bald Heads' performance ended, the lights came on and everyone screamed as Prince, flanked by bodyguards went upstairs, but stopped to wave at everyone.

Next Millenia performed and again, when the lights went out Prince appeared again behind the board mixing sound, bobbing his head, whistling, clapping and having a good time.

The Real thrill of the night came when Prince and the NPG took the stage around midnight and tore the roof off the mutha. The set included selections from the Hit N Run tour and new songs. I can't remember them all, but they played: Uptown, Controversy, The Ballad of Dorothy Parker, You Make My Sunshine (with Najee and Millenia), Housequake, I Could Never Take The Place of Your Man, Donny Hathaway's Someday We'll All Be Free, Purple Rain, and two new songs - one with the hook "willing to do the work" and a funky off the cuff jam that closed the show. Prince was in an especially good mood and talked and played with the audience throughout the performance. It was worth more than the $40 ticket price!!!

May All Your Dreams Be Mocha Dreams...

Sincerely,
