Austrlalian VIP tix sold out Just spent 5+ hours trying to dial in to the "hotline" to secure VIP tickets only to receive an "engaged/busy" tone... minute after minute, hour after hour. Finally got through and was told that BOTH VIP options were sold out! This means that ALL the almost $1000 meet and greet ones are gone! This is amazing... All I wanted was front 5 rows guaranteed but lucked out.
While I was doing this I looged in via the web to secure my Diamond TIX and did so. I just hope I may have secured Row 6 or something! This would have to be newsworthy as there must be heaps of folks out there willing to pay big bucks to see the man up close and personal. Unless the bastards at the ticket aganecy secured all these for their corporate clients... I tried solidly from 9am - a true fan who missed out on a dream. Oh well I might get Row 6 centre stage, have a couple of extra hundred bucks up my sleeve and still see the soundcheck. This would make a good newspaper story though... the guy said it was amazing how busy they were. | |

For an Artist that people say they have no intrest in he sure seems to sell out wherever he performs. Hmmm a good lesson for all the critics. | |

it is interesting how optimistic you are that you will end up in Row 6, center stage. If the ticket buying was that strong, you'll probably end up in row 10 or 11 on one side or the other. It is interesting how those premium seats sold out so quickly. I guess there are lots of people with big $ in their pockets.
Although I still think it is tacky to charge those types of prices, at least the money will go to Prince rather than to some scalper. I was saying 20 years ago that artists should charge much more for the first few rows, but it took them 20 years to figure this out. | |

--- The only critics are on this board. The guy can sell out a select number of $1,000.00 tickets. This is not the kind of thing you can pull off if there is no interest in your music. | |

Sticks, I feel so sorry for you, I was on there for 3.5 hours and even started calling at 8.58am... I nearly gave up but made one last attempt before leaving for a lunch break and FINALLY got through. I was extremely lucky as I managed to get 2 of the last 4 VIP tix that were available for the Sydney show.
Question to all others who purchased tix on Friday or Sat, has your credit card been billed for this yet? I'm a little anxious because as far as I know there is no way to confirm! | |

Looks like I was one of the lucky ones. I started dialing at 08:58 and finally got through at 10:38. Got myself two of the VIP tickets. $391 times 2 + booking fee almost cleaned out my very modest bank account. Not all of the people in the first five rows are rolling in money. I was at the Diamonds & Pearls concert in Sydney 10 years ago and it was the best show I have ever seen. I can't wait!!!
And no, my account has not been debited yet either. They said it would be a couple of days. The years have been kind to me..............................it's the weekends that have done the damage! | |

Yeah, my credit card is suffering slightly, but it always is anyway! Not the cheapest night, but I think it's completely justifiable. This is going to be huge for all Aussie fans, not something that happens every day/year/month... unfortunately...
Glad to hear that I can look forward to losing ample funds in the next couple of days! | |

Ain't that the damn Truth. I'm writing from the US, its a trip you never hear him on the radio here anymore and people in general don't mention him anymore. But true fans here know how hard (badass) he is! Its amazing how much intrest he has Worldwide! | |

I thing the most recent Prince song that I have heard on the radio is from the love symbol CD. When I told people that I was going to see him they had no idea that he had released anything since love symbol. The fans know and that is all that matters. Bring on the show!!!
