I wonder why would he add the ONA box set. It seems like it would have been better to include a set of cds with material that has not been released.( whether it is live or studio trax.) Chances are if someone is willing to pay those prices they are hardcore fams who would more than likely have the box set anyway. They might even own more than one copy.
I also could be totally wrong but buy Prince charging fams so much to meet & greet him doesn't this go against his belief that idol worship is wrong ( which is one of the reasons he says he doesn't sign autographs anymore.)

My thoughts exactly. A teired ticketing system is also pigeonholing fans into "how much of a fan are you" groups. http://www.goldiesparade.co.uk/ - Prince discography, tour history, news and more.

However, they do have to ask the question "Name on Card", and that's just to verify all the details are correct so they can bill an actual account. Hope u are fine with u're tickets, should be though, If something was wrong, they wouldn't have proceded with the rest of the transaction, think of it that way. If you are complaining because you can't afford it, maybe you should spend less time in front of your computer on this meaningless site, and more time WORKING you lazy bastards. As far as I'm concerned, you could add a zero to the price and I'll still pay it.
hahahahah Ok, so if he decided to release his albums on a two tier pricing system, where the 'GOOD STUFF' was £100 per track, and the lousy post 94 shit was £10 per album, you'd still think it was ok...?? So it's OK for Prince to cater for the affluent fans, and the rest can have whatever's left.? nice.

its funny someone put that aerosmith article up there, id already read it on an aerosmith fan site. i think they all are overpriced, but prince is like $400 cheaper than aerosmith and kiss, and prince is far more reclusive.
personally i dont give a shit, he could do that all the time and theyd sell out constantly. i do agree it seems at odds with his anti hero worship though, but has anyone wondered if clear channel or the venues get some of that money, maybe prince sort of has to do it if he wants to play, not that i think hes an angel etc! plus, why the hell give out rarities to people who buy ticks, who will then bootleg it round the world! personally i dont know why hes giving ONA live considering most fans will have it, perhaps the dvd would have been better. however i think he must know alot of peeps who will do the backstage thing, may be just well off people who are checking him out, so he'll give em the box set, if they have it already they can give it to a friend or something

Do you think you are going to sit down and talk to Prince for 30 minutes during the "Meet and Greet"??? He is probably just going to briefly say Hello to you and then move down the line. But it will be interesting to hear how much interaction he really does have with the fans. It does seem tacky to charge people hundreds of dollars to meet you though.

You know KISS recently did this in the US and it was a huge success. 1000 bucks got you a seat in rows 1-3 and backstage to meet them. Of course they also had a photographer to snap a photo of you with the band.

Interesting article about Aerosmith.
I can understand why he is charging that amount. It is not just about meeting Prince. Although that is the jewel in the crown. It is a whole different experience by the sounds of things. And what if this was to sell at only 50 more than the ticket price below? Everyone would get one and there isn't enough room for everyone. I think, once again, it sounds like the ones that can't afford it are bitter as anything and so slag him off. Thank the lord he did price 'em that high. That means that's one 2-facer he won't be meeting. BTW, I could never afford that price, but I am pleased for those that can, even if I am envious, I am not slagging Prince into the ground for it. I am also generous with my well wishes for those that do attend. A non generous heart is an ugly thing. I know, ppl here were awful when I got a bit of time on stage with Prince when he came to London.

Your absolutley right when you mention priorities which is why some of us couldn't afford to pay such an astronomical amount of money to see Prince. I mean it's either spend the money to meet Prince and sleep in a cardboard box or spend the money on taking care of bills which in my opinion is my biggest priority. Your really lucky that you can spend the money believe me if I could afford it I be right there with you. I also thought your "lazy bastards" comments was a bit harsh I work and make a pretty decent living but with the economy being the way it is not to mention gas prices going through the roof etc. it's just not pratical and like Tony C. pointed out he's probably just going to walk down the line shake hands and smile say hello and move on. But I'll just be one those who will have to read about the good time every else will be having and wishing I could have attended.

Yesss... very interressting article 'bout Kiss & Aero'...
I've met Prince 3 times, & have the chance 2 have a talk once, at Le Bataclan 1999 in Paris (I've asked him why he was playing only Larry's stuff on that night...He wasn't very happy of my Q !!)... & I also know a lot pple who have meet him... & I still think U can meet him 4 free... it's a flower of LUCK, PATIENCE & XPECTATION...(Right Time, Right Place) But NOW is BUZINE$$$ TIME... It's an "@live" experience 4 those harcorefarms who can affort it... If U had the will 2 meet him 4 once in ur live, We had pretty good occasions 2 made it (ex: 2 Celebrations, Soundchecks, aftershows & mo'...or WORK UR BUTT 2 Be on the GOOD RAILS !!!) So, FRUSTRETED ONES, "VOS GUEULES" ... Now let the FUNK ROLL & remember wit him it's only ONCE, Never Twice The Same "..ain't that the way, it's supposed to be?.." ani difranco A mosquito returns from its walk and says has its mother - You know, mom, everyone applauded me!

I'm one of the anxious Aussie fans who was lucky enough to get 2 VIP tix to the Sydney show (apparently with 2 tix to spare).
I am a little concerned, however, that my credit card has not yet been billed for this event. Is anyone else experiencing the same nervousness or do you think I'm panicking a little bit?

When converted to Aussie dollars, some of the stuff on the npgmc website can be quite expensive to the average aussie fans. Personally, i think its a good idea. As for the greeting, we'll wait and see on that one. Just remember that most religious people do eventually get caught out in terms of believing one thing and doing another.

Arent some of tickets for seats that are actually ON the stage? If thats true its kind of a "once in a lifetime" kind of thing. I dont know..I agree with some of the other comments regarding this. Its up to the individual. If you have bank like that, or if you decide this experience is worth you making financial sacrifices for, then whats the big deal? It all depends on the value that you place on the experience. If I had the dough I'd shell out $ for an on stage seat. Hell..back in the day Prince probably would done the same thing for a Hendrix show.

If I am "family," then why you wanna charge me for a meet and greet? If I am gonna pay that much for a ticket and a chance that you will maybe spend all of 30 seconds (maybe less!) with me, what is it really worth? For that kind of money, not only do I want a meet and greet but hell, I wanna come to his house and spend the night and get a hot meal! For that kinda money, Prince better sign every CD cover I have as well as my VHS copies of "Purple Rain," "Under the Cherry Moon," "Sign O the Times," and that God-awful "Graffiti Bridge!" And by the way, Prince has to explain just what the hell is "around the corner!" It's a sad day when artists are not really that accessible to their fans and for that kind of money, people are really being robbed. Point blank. If Prince really wanted to be more fan friendly without all the BS, he could. Too much money has gone into this man's pocket for him to A.) put out bullshit product like "NEWS" and B.) for him to be at this point in his musical career to have his ass still on his shoulders. It's sad that at 45-years-old, you would think that he would mellow and really be cool. I guess not.

Well, Ive been trying all morning to get on Ticketek's website. I suppose people who were able to pay A$1000 per ticket were first in line for those as well. Thanks a lot Prince. You dont need to write any more autobiographical songs now, just rewrite Sign O' The Times. I guess your poorer fans miss out, huh. Paul S

Paul S --- Paul, I think you'll find that members of the npgmc pretty much cleaned up all the good seats last Friday as part of being a member is access to pre-sale seats. I think some members also missed out as well. but I do agree with you in terms of having to pay alot of money to see a show. I think its just a reflection of life as well.
