I just received the Spring 2001 Rightous Babe Records Catolog O' Stuff in the mail and there is a Prince quote about the new Ani Difranco double album, "Revelling/Reckoning", where he states it's "the most expressive acoustic playing I've ever heard".



It is a cool concept for a double lp, half the songs are Ani solo, and half were recorded with her band. Maceo Parker is also on the album, due in stores 4-10.



Also in the catalog, they talk about what it is like to be an independent record label...."We pride ourselves on our independence. That word gets thrown around a lot these days, and everybody seems to mean something different by it. In these parts, Independence has nothing to do with maximizing profit margins and everything to do with freedom of thought and expression." I know Prince is inspired by her, so maybe her message will ring home to him.
