hhhmmm, just a question - why do you buy a record AGAIN? Did the other CD got broken? By the way, how good is the CD SOTT soundwise - I still got the vinyl version, and have not bought the CDs (yeah, I got a good record player). Is it worthwhile to buy or better to wait for a remastered version (I know I am an optimist - but one day Warner or somebody else must put out a remastered version). Starfish and coffe, ...

I havent got the Cd either. Nostalgia i suppose. My Sott vinyl copy is beat up bad. The Record plays fine but the cover is hangin off. That album has been around the world more times than Philleas Fogg.I once lent it to a mate of mine in Bulgaria for three weeks and i didnt get it back for 2 bloody years! I love the sound of vinyl. Still my baby is back with me, pride of place with all my P vinyls i bought back in the 80s. ahhh...

Starfish and coffe, ... i wouldn't bother with the CD if you have the vinyl. it's badly recorded for CD. Not sure why, but it's obviously bad enough that a disclaimer is printed on the back of the CD. If you turn it up loud, you'll damage the speakers, it's mastered very quietly.

Wait for the remastered versions of any of his cds from the 80's. I have to turn the volume all the way up and the music still isn't very loud. I'm looking to get a record player as well so I can here those 12inch versions and bootlegs that I have. I was waiting for a cd release with all the Prince (and Prince related artist) extended versions on it but I doubt it will ever happen. I got lucky and found a few import cds with ext. versions but there are so many that aren't out.

the entire record industry is getting ready for a huge historical shift in the sales and distribution of music...from what I understand how music stores exhist today,by the end of this year may be extinct!!!
that is the point not that SOTT is on sale at 6.99 I just went to media play they had half their CDs marked more than half off I found plenty of prince music and got me a few extra copies anticipating that when music stores as we know them and cds as we know them are extinct, that when princes remastered works come out they will never sound like the original prints because as the rumor had it long ago WHEN we thought it was rumor of him being with universal and aquiring his rights to his catalogue of music, the rumor of him changing the words on his remasters the WORDS in his music will most definately have changed, thus making these original recordings more and more rAre as time goes on and more and more valuable,\\\ one day in the quite near future people will be scurrying to get thier hands on these recordings rather than the re masters especially in the event that a single word or a single note is changed yeah and in my life time as many times as I have replaced every single one of his albums numerous times..I DO need these copies on hand, itr cost alot when you lose or you entire collection is stolen from some renta car clerk, to replace all that shit ..
