The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly(Fall Music Preview) features an interview with Pink, the members of Outkast, and Dave Matthews. During the interview, as is typical with any discussion involving musicians, Prince was brought up.

EW: ...Can you name a musical influence you feel confident the others will share--and one you're sure they won't?

Dave: Well, I'm guessing Bob Marley...

Andre: Oh, yeah.

Dave: If there is a God, Marley knows him well.

EW: There's more than one correct answer, then, because Hendrix is one I've seen all of you cite.

Andre: Definitely. I was gonna say him or Prince.

Pink: I'm the only person I've ever met in my entire life who was never into Prince.

Andre: Are you serious? You have been deprived! But you was a Michael Jackson fan, huh?

Pink: Uh-huh.

Andre: Awww, man. Prince kicked Michael Jackson's ass!

I know, but damn... Well, I liked Prince's butt!

Andre: We've gotta send you to a Prince class.

Pink: People have tried.

No forthcoming Prince album mentioned in the Fall Preview, but that's not a surprise.

They also had a section where they came up with 25 playlists for you iPod, CD burner, etc. and one of the lists was "Penned by Prince" and included "Waiting Room" by No Doubt, and "Superhero" by Earth Wind & fire. And, in typical "no-knowledge" fashion, the list included "Pray" by MC Hammer. Another list, called "Great Album Closers" included "Purple Rain."

This explains why Pink sucks.

Thank God Andre finally said Prince kicks Michael Jackson's ass. So many people I know have argued MJ is the all-time king of whatever. Prince is such a badass especially back in the day that I never could get my head around why so many buubleheads would defend MJ. He can sing but that dance shit was just alright and without Quicy...shi...

I like Pink, I love positive message that's in her latest work. Not everybody digs Prince. He's not as 'Pop' as Michael. He represents what a true musician is...

I love Outkast. They are one of the few artists whose CD I get within the first few days of its release.
It's great to see that Andre (my favorite) is trying to school the clueless about Prince.
I also love Andre's video for "Hey Ya". Big Boi's is cool too.

Then you have Prince with stuff like Head and Darlin' Nikki and the list goes on and on, well you know everbody can't deal with those type of lyrics Prince himself can't even stomach these songs which is why he censors them now. Yeah, not everyone HAS to enjoy Prince but you have to acknowledge his gifts regardless. Pink reveals her age with a comment like that and her music reflects it by being disposable pop. And who knows, maybe we'll all see Pink in the R&R Hall of Fame one day though not likely. I think many people are angry at her because she doesnt like Prince. Well, nobody is forced to like him. Specially because his music is not so easy to listen. Lots of people I know dont like him. I had a hard time listening to the first samples of his music. I am glad the music grew on me.
