Possible NPG Music Club fixes?

Solution to log in problems with NPGMC player:

Just got a friendly mail from Tekadence with a (possible) solution for people who cannot log on using the player because they're behind a firewall or proxy. Here's what you should try:

This procedure is a temporary workaround for users behind firewalls and requiring proxys, until we can provide a utility to setup your proxy automatically. We recommend backing up your win.ini file before making any changes to it.

Go to START>RUN and type "sysedit" (without the quotes)

Click on the window titled C:\WINDOWS\WIN.INI

Click on Search, Find... and type in tekadence. Hit find.

You should see a section like this:

[tekadence]

jre=C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.3\bin

Under the jre= line, copy or type in the following line:

proxy=your.proxy.address:port

For example if your proxy server`s IP address is 192.168.0.1 and you use port number 2048 your tekadence entry in the win.ini file would look like this:

[tekadence]

jre=C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.3\bin

proxy=192.168.0.1:2048

Save the file, and reboot your computer. You should then be able to use the NPG Music Club player with a proxy. If you don`t know your proxy`s IP address and port number, you can get that information from your network administrator.

Hope this solves some people's problems. All that's left for me to sort out is the payment issue. Eagerly awaiting Visa statement. All hell will break loose if PayPal doesn't show up on it WITH a 4-digit code.. wink

Peace
