When Sheila E. did her drum clinic in Chicago, I DID ask her about the Family Jam and if Prince was gonna be there. First, she said that she had accidentally leaked the information about the benefit to someone from Rolling Stone. She was unaware that the person she was chatting with was from Rolling Stone. As far as Prince being there, she said, "Well, this really isn't about him". She went on to say that the main focus the Jam was to get together and reunite a group of great musicians, have a great time and do it to benefit the charity. But if Prince wanted to come, he'd be welcome. That's what Sheila said!  | |

Yeah, it's not about him, BUT these great musicians, they're all from the MPLS music era..from the Starr Company, from Paisley Park...you know. And I do think it's about the charity to though. I think it would be very classy for Prince to show. If he doesn't, man, I'll still have a great time seeing all my other favorite artists (-Carmen), and musicians! | |
