Prince...Think about where that's been...& Where everything thats been there has been...I mean, really. ~
Although I've seen your wickedness, I still love your effervesence. And I know that loving you don't make no sense, but I guess that's why I like it...

DredScott said: Also rumor, but a friend thought he spotted Prince's camp during her show last week at Universal Amphitheatre here in L.A., minutes before he jammed at BB King's a block away... A kick-ass collaboration is WAY past due... Mariah is an underated soul singer, and its too bad that the press/public seem to be more interested in her romantic life and wardrobe choices.
"Make It Happen" Prince! Correction: Mariah WAS a soul singer before she hung it all up to be a hoochie-bubble-gum-singin-Puff-Daddy-blowin-samplin-teenie-bopper-insane-Britney-Spears-wannabe. Rudedog

Mariah Carey's "Butterfly" CD (Columbia 1997) is good, and it contains the track "The Roof" which DredScott mentioned, as well as a cover version of Prince's "The Beautiful Ones" performed with R&B artist Dru Hill/Sisqo. OMG! She ripped all the soul out of that song and that Phil Collin's song, Against All Odds. She's become the new Tom Jones!! He just did cover songs and ripped all the soul out of them to make them lifeless, commercial commodities. Rudedog

A source close to Mariah says "He's got a soft spot for Mariah. He's asked about coming to see her when she performs in the UK in October. He seems smitten with her".
Today a friend told me, she read the same at a spanish rosa press revue magazine.

C'mon folks, we all know this rumour can't be true! Mariah is over 30! Everyone knows Prince likes the young 'uns! Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

ScottNPG said: Talking about Madonna, how can she sell out so distastefully by doing a Gap commercial? This is a company whose products are made by third world countries with employees who have no rights getting paid a bowl of rice a month! Shame on you Madonna! Hey, what a stupid and one-sided view of the world. If there was no GAP giving employment there, do you think they would earn 10.000 dollars a month and spend their time liberally discussing philosophy? I'm not saying that Nike, GAP etc. bring glory to the third world countries, but they do give employment and some - although little - money. Better than nothing!! Have you seen people starving in the streets or selling their bodies to survive - that could be an alternative? But it is good to keep up the pressure, so that GAP etc. do more for working conditions, and start paying more. Peace

FlyingCloudPassenger said: So what are the must listen to Mariah albums?
Suggestions welcomed, I want to re-discover her soulfullness...! I enjoyed the bits of Glitter that I heard. I only saw a few minutes of Glitter and it seemed like a fun movie. She says in her Maxim interview that a lot of cards were up against her around the time they released that album and movie, it was around September 11th so things were really odd and sad in those days. i think Glitter should be re-named Violet Rain because there are sooo many likenesses from Purple Rain. anyone else notice this? she sings back-up for a girl that seems like Vanity. a record label that just signed "Sheila D." is trying to get her to sign with them. Eric Benet plays a part that i think represents Prince, because his character pursue's and collab's with Billy Frank (Mariah). (Billy is also from P.R.) - i just think the similarities are far too many . . . + she spends time during the movie writing a heart felt song that is supposed to be a show-stopper at the end. anyway - i think it would be great to see Prince and Mariah really collab on a project. i know he took her to dinner way back when she first got started. i don't think Tony was having that though!! she is very talented but i agree, stuck in a 15 year olds mind-set. i will be going to her show Sept 14 in Cinci - i'll let you know if i see his majesty . . . have you heard that Mariah is doing a new movie where she plays a female boxer? kinda brings to mind the Heartbreaker video and the horrible fight scene huh? ;( music is its own reward - Sting

So Prince is married! At least he's happy (I hope). Maybe he just wants to sing with Mariah to see who has the highest voice. I like Prince more than Mariah; but, I think that Mariah would win that battle. The woman can probably shatter glass. SPREAD LOVE UNTIL THE SUN'S FINAL RISE--The Duality a.k.a. "WYNTER SKYE"
