Wendy & Lisa online again

After the closing of their site much a while ago, the all new site is up since today (1st September). Link: http://www.wendyandlisa.com

There are several mp3's of soundtrack related tracks as well as there are overviews on collaborations and TV/movie projects.

The site is quite elaborated with much Flash content and nice details to be discovered.

Though some "news" date from earlier months, the site wasn't accessible until now.

THAT is somecool website. Now if Prince would see THAT! instead of that over the top looking fake rich churh temple palace thing of the NPGMC (the name only!) with no taste of whatsoever decoration or even it's architecture. Yuk! wink i never liked it at all! it's such bad kitch. it sucks big time. I even never liked the name of The New Power Generation. it's so... religious.
But Wendy & Lisa's is great, fun, and simple. No pruple cloud comming from a stupid oldfashioned vase that does only fits 5 feet under, where it comes from. smile

Yeah, Wendy & Lisa's got it going.

Even though I heard they are no longer a love couple. But as long as they are able to get along and work together I'm happy because that leaves the promise of a follow-up to Girl Bros. Ooh, yeah, I would really love that to come along.

I love Wendy and Lisa, but that website is just boring. Not exciting at all. They need to fire their web designer.

I agree with the person who said that didn't like the name New Power Generation. I agree wholeheartedly. I never did like that name either for the simple fact that it sounded so New Age-y. I just hope that with 2004 arriving soon that Prince really unleashes the jams like he used to. I dunno, I am inclined to believe that maybe he is having a mid-life crisis. Did you see the new DVD? Is he trying to be James Brown or what?

i dig Wendy and Lisa's web site and listening to their music you can see and hear the colours they have brought to Prince's music. There is no surprise why Prince has respect for their music output. keep in keepin' on girl's!

still i couldn't find any news on their website about the fact that they're joining Sheila E's december event..
If W&L are comming (which says so on Sheila's site), Prince should/will be there too. And if he doesn't come out at all, he's stubborn and plain purple stupid! Nah! wink

One more word about N.E.W.S.,it's not bad, but it's an Eric Leeds album with too much John Blackwell, too much dry production and lack of colours 'n tunes, and here and there a collaboration with Prince, providing snippets of music which he got from the dustbin. But hey, even a throwaway tune by Prince is somtimes even better than anything on the charts right now.. wink Bwahahahaaa am i joking?

I've listened so many times to NEWS, and well, i'm doing so hard my best to dance to it in my mind, or even try and sit out a whole song listening to it's details, but there nearly aren't any. That funky out-of-tuned rythmguitar? he's far more 'new directions'than that. But Eric is one hell of agood saxplayer, that's for sure. I'm actually very curious what Eric thinks about the tunes..
It's just not good enough, and the same goes for EXPECTATION. But IS Expectation the Xenophobia album without it's original titletrack? is that correct? can anyone info me on that one? thanx.
(i was wondering why he didn't release Xenophobia, that track sounded pretty ok to me.)

Imaging W&L collaborating on NEWS,they easily would've filled in the boring pieces with colours of (psychadelic) beauty..

I have an opinion on the matter. Its not as if you never come here and cry about how much the NPGMC doesnt give you or the DVD. I dont do that. SO if you dont like it, it doesnt matter. I have always been heard and you all have always read it.

1) I liked NPG name. It sounds good. Ok, kind of cheesy, but Revolution can be considered pretentious too.
2) ´Is he trying to be James Brown?´ . Well, I didnt watch the DVD, but Prince´s main inspiration on stage is JB. It was always that way. The difference is that before he used to invent choreographies and such, and dressed in androgynous way, so it made him more different. Now he doesnt use too many gimmicks.

I see what you are saying and to be honest, maybe I was wrong or a bit harsh in my judgement. Yes, I do know that he was inspired by JB and I guess maybe I just want to see Prince come with some real funky stuff. Not gimmicky, but just come with the real music that he is known for.

What is your take on this?

Damn, man, it's fucking good to see yer wonderful ass again! wink Thanks for the link...I love these girls, but had stopped trying to find any kind of "official" site, since the old one kinda just disappeared.

Oh, and by the way, for those who are interested, the girls say this on their site:

"a lot of you are asking about sheila e. and the planned benefit concert. well...the word is YES. it is just in the planning stages but...the idea is to assemble as many of the musicians from the original or ANY of the bands we had back "when we was fab" together, and lend our talents to a night of fun and jamming to raise money for the "Lil Angel Bunnies" foundation. please check out sheila's site for more info on the foundation. the concert is planned for early december."

Man, I wish I still lived in HeLL.A.!! wink

YEP! Right on! Good to see YOU neither gagged nor tied up - finally free speech wink

But I still have to get used to the org... so much to read! On the other hand, there's nearly nothing (worth) to read anymore on NPGMC.
