Prince to tour this Fall

I´ve just received this E-mail from Milenia:

"Don't forget to check out Milenia on Thursday, Aug, 21, 2003 10:30 p.m. at Piere's. Cover $3 and they will be signing autographs and cd's. You don't want to miss this event before the girls start officially touring with Prince again this fall! See you there."

When I saw these girls a couple of years ago opening up for Prince, they were incredibly bad. I don't see why he would have them back. Anyway, I doubt Prince will tour this year.

Milenia is not BAD, per say. It's just that they remind me of anybody's siset/aunt/etc. There was nothing overwhelmingly special about thier voices.

I would be glad to see them in a local/regional context, but I'm not hyped to see them with Prince like I did when I heard Larry G/Chaka Khan was touring with him.

Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another

and by the way, when they were here with Hit and Run Tour, their loudest applause came when they said they were leaving the stage (only to do 2 more songs)

I'm thinking they just mentioned "touring with Prince this fall" to give themselves some credibility.. I could be wrong, but I don't think he'll tour before winter at the earliest.. wait, what would he tour with? NEWS? confuse

Do you think he'd still charge $150 or more for tickets if it was some snoozer of a "jazz" tour?

Well... I heard TRC live last October... I'm not sure I'm too interested in hearing NEWS or Xpectation live really. If he does tour this year, personally I'll skip it (unless there is a "proper" new album between now and then).

I don't know who or what "Milenia" is, but any band that has managed to mis-spell their own name doesn't interest me smile

Some of you don't seem to understand that Prince is best live, whether it's a instrumental tour or his live act. Did any of you hear about his performance at The Montreal Jazz Festival? His first set consisted of an ALL instrumental session, then his second set included vocals. Prince was praised for his set that night. If you love music, Then let the man play for you and just enjoy it and take it for what it is. Plus if you ever seen him live...he never disappoints. Would the American Idol tour be more rewarding? lol

Hey I know Prince is great live, I've seen him loads of times. It doesn't mean I need to see every tour he does though. I could live quite happily without hearing NEWS and Xpectation live, because those albums don't do much for me.

I saw him in London last October, and he was brilliant. If he tours with some new songs, I might be interested, but otherwise I won't bother going to the expense of time and money just to hear Prince's instrumental doodlings.

Perhaps this news story should actually read:

"Prince to tour this Millenia, say UK northern punk band The Fall"

Yes Montreal Jazz Fest was amazing! I could see that sort of show 10 times in a row!

I agree with Ian, I won't go if it is just instrumentals and he is silent to the audience. I've seen him loads of times, I know how good he is live.

YES! Larry & Chaka tore it all up in DC a few years back (around the time of New Power Soul). I patted Larry's shoulder when he came into the audience slammin' on his bass! I've been fortunate to see Prince 7 times, and I am watering at my mouth and yearning for more! Last show was O.N A. in NYC April 02. I can't wait to get the DVD. But, yeah, Milenia was so-so, gimme Chaka & Larry!!
