I think Versace designs are great, and the photo shoot he done for them during "The Gold Experience" was a classic shoot - Versace should do more clothes for Prince

Prince says some of the stupidest things sometimes. Maybe he just didnt want to play it for her she is so hideous looking.LOL.If anyone remembers the VH-1 Fashion Music Awards Prince opened the show with he and Mayte doing the P Control. Mostly lip synched but funky as hell nonetheless.

He probably hates them cuz he's had to play them for so much of his career. He's sick of them.

Prince might hate purple rain cause it reminds him of wendy and lisa, who said that they basically made the song.i read that in a interview with them. they never got credit, just credit for computer blue.
Prince got scared cause he didn't want to depend on them so he fired them. maybe thats why he hates those songs. But then again, i could be wrong, prince lies a lot.

I doubt very seriously that this man feels threatened by the notion of depending on Wendy and Lisa for song writing. My guess is that he hates performing the song because it is so commercialized and dated. This is a man that wants 2 give U his latest creation; the brand-new Funk he just pulled down from The Funky One. He probably gets frustrated that people R still stuck on that old ass shit. “Got 2 try a new position… got 2 try my new funk.”

side note: Mya Rudolph's impersonation of Donatella on Saturday Night Live has been the show's highlight recently... Would love to see Prince do a walk-on.

Right, ok, so...exactly how much money would he have in his bank account today if it were not for that song? A lot less I reckon. That song alone established a comfortable living for him. He should love that song.

Maybe this was just before he left Warner. He certainly doesn't hate the song nowadays.

Now, I for one, don't hate "Purple Rain" but God knows I was sick of it, it seemed once anyone played Prince on the radio in NY, it was "When Doves Cry", "Purple Rain", "Adore", "I Wanna Be Your Lover" or "Kiss". Thats it, not even "Raspberry Beret".
Him feeling this way, it probably was for the moment. The man is mooody
But I betcha he played it at ONA NYC on April 9, 2002!!

BTW: I didnt like the VERSACE shoots ...Prince looked ghastly, looked too pale and too :Queen: ish...some of the clothes were okay...the one that comes to mind being the best is the Red suit.

Prince has said when asked what is his favourite song that he wrote or played..."They are ALL my children, I cannot just single one out." That is a good statement, since he is the creator of each song. Whether he wrote it alone or collaborated with someone. If the song reaches #1 on the chart or put $$$ in his pocket...That does not nessesarily mean that it has to be his favourite. An "artist" will create whether he is filthy rich or dead broke.

Listen last tour Prince did Purple Rain so I don't think he hates the song. Probably Bored with doing the same songs over and over. Kinda like been There and done that Over deal.Guess many artists feel that way. Just Wish he didn't feel like he was Tired of Performing right now. Miss him Much.

I wish Prince would just retire the song Purple Rain at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction
