Family Jam planned for December

The Lil' Angel Bunny Foundation is planning a benefit concert in Los Angeles featuring many of the bands that defined the "Minneapolis Sound" in the 1980s. Among the acts confirmed are Sheila E., Apollonia, Carmen Electra (host of the evening) as well as members of the The Family and Prince's backing band, The Revolution. All proceeds from the concert - to be held at a venue in Los Angeles, Calif., in December - will go towards the creation of the Compassion Care Center in Los Angeles, a safe haven for abused or abandoned children that provides education, counseling and mentoring. The concert is still in the early planning stages. We will be announcing band lineups and more details on this site as soon as they are confirmed.

OK...so all the memebers of Mazarati, Good Question, The Family, Madhouse and every other band Prince helped put together should step up! Oh, and The Time (the original members) NEED to be there too! This is a GREAT cause!

Sheila and the others who put this together deserve much props! If they get ALL the names and put it on pay-per-view they'll make lots of $$$!!!

Props to Prince for exposing many of these "associated" artists to us for the first time. A reunion which might not even include the man himself would not be this anticipated if he didn't constantly showcase his band members on stage and on record.

I mean would die-hard Madonna or MJ fans be this excited to travel around the world to catch a line-up of their repective backing bands sans the Stars themselves? Could they even name the former musicians? Could the E Street Band pack the house without The Boss? Doubt it.

Prince's generosity in spotlighting others with extended solos, close-ups, record deals, etc, over 2 decades should be appreciated more often.

so, before they play something together, they need to rehearse... let's see how far it goes.
who's gonna be in charge for these rehearsals? i mean.. these people haven't played any of those old prince tunes for ages.. in fact, will they play prince tunes? will they get permission of Prince/WB to do so? does bobby still knows how to play the drums? and will they all show up? i mean, most of them live very far away from each other..

funny. i have no idea if this even will happen. but we'll see. and IF so, the media will be all over it i think..

I would love to witness this event in December.Plus,it's a great way to kick off a Prince media blitz in 2004.The 20th anniversary of "Purple Rain and induction in the Rock N' Roll hall of fame.PARTY UP!
