Sheila E radio interview

This evening on WPGC 95.5 FM, DJ Tigger was broadcasting live from Las Vegas at the MGM Grand where the Billboard awards will be held tomorrow night, and one of the people he happened to interview for a few minutes was Sheila E. (whom he admited to having a boyhood crush on...but hell who didn't?) They talked about her CD and her new project, a percussion kit for kids and their parents so they could teach them percussion at home. She said she's doing this beecause of the problems within public schools of music programs being eliminated. So she wants to bring music lessons to the home, because that is where she learned percussion from her father at home. DJ Tigger asked Sheila what the difference between the music of today and the music of "The Glamorous Life" time was, and she said that back in the day, people just got their instruments in a room, sat down and jammed, and now they don't do that anymore, because of technology and sampling. Sheila did admit though that she is no stranger to sampling, and she noted that whatever gets the job done musically is fine for her.
