Sixth report on Nashville concert

The show was okay really. I thought it could have been a
whole lot better, if the songs were longer instead of being
in medleys, and if he had played "she's alway's in my hair"
which is my favorite song. I also had the pleasure of meeting
Mr. Hayes and Kip Blackshire b4 the show even began. When I walked in2
the building, they were standing around, chatting amongst
themselves, and they were doing it so nonchalantly, that they
weren't even recognized by anyone until I came up and conversated
with them. Morris is so funny!! Kip was in and out of our
conversation, cause he was waiting 4 his family 2 arrive,
so he looked kind of worried and uninterested in what me and
Morris was discussing, but they are both really cool and down
2 earth. Morris signed the back of my flyer 4 the aftershow.
Anyway, the show kicked off with "uptown", and went in2 "controversy"
then "mutiny". It was cool 2 hear it the same way it was per4med
during the 1986 Parade Hit and Run shows. But most fans didn't reconize
that song. Highlights of the show 4 me was "Scandalous" (I love the hip-hop
beat the drummer put with it when he said '2nite is gonna be scandalous...),
"Darling Nikki" was the shit 2, as was Geneva's dancing during
that song. She showed dem draws when she raised up her skirt!!
"The Ballad of Dorthy Parker"... Nuff said. That song is a classic
"Come On" and "Pop Life" sounded good 2 hear also. Way 2 much Najee
4 me though. He's a good sax player and all, but was it a
Prince featuring Najee concert, or Najee featuring Prince? I had
a hard time telling. Prince was in a good mood during the whole
show, and interacted with the crowd almost during the whole show.
He per4med "Take me with U/Raspberry Beret" with an acoustic
guitar, and let us take over the verse and chorus 4 "Raspberry Beret".
But of course, he did his usual preaching and rambling and stuff.
It went down well with the audience, but he kept talking about
us being a reflection of the God we serve, but only a few moments
ago, he's humping the stage and dancing sexually during "Darling Nikki".
I'm not passing judgement on him at all, so don't get me wrong.
I just thought it was... let's say "interesting".
The "Come On" jam was just tight. he invited about 15 people up
on2 the stage and danced with most of them, most notably this "big"
woman who put it on him!! She put him 2 work!! There was a girl in particular
who he wanted 2 bring on stage 2 dance with him, but i guess she
was 2 shy. He then started 2 go get her, but then said "That's okay,
there's 2 many crazy people here in the front!" He gave his black "Come On"
hat 2 someone in the audience after they gave him a purple cowboy hat.
He sang with it on 4 a minute, then gave it back 2 them and they still
got 2 keep the "Come On" hat. Speaking of hats, there were like 4-5
girls in the front row with "Raspberry" berets on. I thought he
would comment on that, or bring them on stage, but he didn't.
Why wasn't there a guitar Player though?? But I like how Najee
played the guitar part on his sax during "Computer Blue". The
New drummer was tight as hell. I'll put him up there with Sheila
E. and Michael Bland. He played part of his solo with one hand
with he drank a bottle of water with the other one, and didn't
miss a beat! I took a lot of pictures, despite the sign saying
no cameras, audio or video equiptment. But NONE of them developed.
I was so hurt sad But all in all, an exceptional show. Hopefully
he'll read our comments, right the wrong, and give us a Kick Ass
tour 4 next year, 2 promote a Kick ass new album. Which reminds me,
I should have asked Morris about any new projects. The t-shirts
were crappy and expensive. Besides one that said "Prince hit n run
tour 2000", the other shirts didn't have nothing 2 do with the tour
or Prince at all. The poster was expensive 2 be so cheap looking.
So I didn't buy anything from the concert. And this concludes my
Tour Report. If the girl who met Morris and Kip with me (the
dude with the curly hair) is reading this, email me sometimes
cutie!!
