Third Atlanta report

last night was soooo amazing! my ultimate prince fantasy/dream has finally come true. my friend and i were like 4-5 feet from prince. we were dead center too!. i was able to see, very clearly, his symbol attached to the zipper on his boots. i could even see the spit fly out of his mouth at times. this is how close i was! the man was playing much guitar last night as well.... lots!!! i was happy for that. "i could never take the place of your man" was one of my guitar highlights. on a funk note, "mutiny" kicked my ass all over the place. so did "housequake".... "everybody jump up and down!" and we did! "uptown" was an excellent way to start off any show. najee..... was great! i never felt he played too much or was annoying or anything like that. i think his style blended very well with the new npg. everything was nice & tight and all good! prince even spoke to us for a bit. he was talking about the radio and the format they play. that this radio dude told prince that the radio stations have to play the same songs every hour, because people only listen to the radio for just an hour. prince then said, "people only listen to the radio for just an hour because the music sucks!" (or something like that) then he spoke of how alot of music today is "trash/garbage". i'm assuming he's talking about rap. i also wanna say prince was way sexy last night! lovesexy that is! prince closed out the set with one of my favorite jams.... "come on"!!! during which point a fan from the balcony was begging for prince's "come on" hat. the fan offered prince $60, threw it down to prince and prince spun the hat up to the guy in the balcony. with the $60 prince tossed the cash into the crowd!!! how cool is that? the show was 2 hours long.

1150 club-atlanta, the aftershow party... $20

before last night i was a prince aftershow virgin!!! i was lucky enough that my first one was an amazing on. meaning that the man actually played!!! he walked onto the stage at like 1:30am. he started out by asking us the meaning of thanksgiving. he said he just wanted to know the truth. prince help up onto the stage some of the members of the crowd to give their outlook on the holiday. each one was brought up at different times... one at a time. this really big guy got up there and said that thanksgiving was about stuffing your face! that got the crowd laughing. we never recieved prince's opinion on the subject. then all of the sudden he went into a crazy version on "the ride". he has changed something with the solo or he has added a new solo. either way the song is hot! he did "when u were mine", which he was trying to get only us to sing. then he switched something around and it threw us off. he laughed, but prince continued to play the song as an instumental... throwing in guitar solos and such. we were all doing the hand clap thing, which was great! he told the crowd there was an open mic, he made kip get up from his keys so he could play them. two black guys and a black woman got up on the stage. i wish i knew how they were, but i don't. they ripped into stevie wonders "supersion". one of those guys actually picked up prince's blue cloud guitar and played it. chuck d got on stage with prince and did "fight the power!" amazing!!!! after the song professor griff got on the mic and said, "FUCK thankgiving!!". prince then walked off the stage. i thought to myself that was it. the aftershow is over now. prince is pissed. the band didn't know what to do. so najee started to do a solo. i believe prince was having a few words backstage with griff. prince did return and he did more music. the night seemed to never end!!! thank god!!! he did the "santana medely", "she's always in my hair", and the most guitar filled rockin' version of "kiss" that i've ever heard!!! it kicked sooo much ass!!! i kid you not!!!! he ended the show by creating tons of feedback with his symbol guitar and left it lying on the ground while he and the band left the stage. by this time it was 3am!!! the aftershow was 1hour 30mins long.

p.s. i was able to talk to morris hayes and kip. that was pretty cool. i also walk right in front of genvena. all i have to say about geneva is that i hope she never breaks her back!!!! that girl can bend!!!!!
