Report on the Milwaukee afterparty (no performance by the Time)

Well, after the promise of a Time performance at the
after party tonight, there was nothing. Appearently,
somebody called the "Park Bar" earlier in the day to
inquire about the usage of their space, which everyone
took to mean that Prince was showing up. In actuallity,
the Afterparty was at "Tom Tom's", about a 5 minute walk
away (incedentally, they did announce "Tom Tom's at the
show). The poster outside clearly stated that this was
and "After Party" and that there was to be "No Performance"
tonight. That didn't seem to stop anyone, since the place
was packed. We showed up at about 12:30 to no line whatsoever
(a pleasent surprize after the Chicago Deep Freeze ;o) )
Anyway, he eventually showed up, but remained secluded in
the pool vestibule with about a hundred of the beautiful ones.

(Did I see Julian, the lookalike from Chicago in there?) I'm
pretty sure I saw at least Morris Day walking out, but it
was pretty packed. Anyway, they played a couple of tracks
that I had never heard before that I swear were new Prince
tunes, but it was too loud to get a good listen in. They
sounded pretty pop-y, for what it's worth.

Overall, it was a littel dissapointing after the post at
NPGOnlineLtd, but they were very up front about this only
being a party, so nobody should have gone in who didn't know
the score. There really didn't seem to be anyplace there to
put a band, or at Park Bar, for that matter. It wouldn't
suprize me to find out that they just coupldn't find anywhere
to jam in the Brew Town. Somebody more inside than me will know.

Hope this made somebody feel more in the know.
