Note from the News Desk - buying/selling concert tickets through prince.org I've received several news items from people wanting to buy/sell tickets to the Hit 'n' Run gigs. Because such posts are outside the scope of a "news" forum, I suggest that people use the PPML (http://www.prince.org/ppml) for ticket buying/selling.
The following information from the PPML FAQ (http://www.prince.org/faq/display_faq.html?type=P) seems pertinent: Q. Can I sell concert tickets on the PPML? A. If you'd like to post an ad to sell extra concert tickets in the PPML, you may simply send it to the regular digest account, ppml@prince.org. However, observe the following rule: tickets may not be sold for more than their retail price. The PPML strictly prohibits "scalping" and "ticket brokers". If you intend to sell tickets on the PPML, you may charge the face value of the tickets plus any fees charged by the authorized ticket agency. For example, if the ticket price was $60 and you paid a $3.50 Ticketmaster surcharge, you may charge no more than $63.50 for the ticket. We cannot emphasize these guidelines enough. The PPML moderators view ticket scalping as a practice which needs to be stopped, not given an additional forum. Q. What policies does the PPML have regarding the trading and selling of items? A. Perhaps most importantly, the PPML moderators are not responsible for any trades/sales of any kind via the PPML and/or prince.org systems. [...] Two more things. First, if you're concerned that the next PPML digest won't come out in time for potential buyers/sellers to read your message, you might consider posting to alt.music.prince. Second, don't forget that a voucher/ID system is in effect for some/all tickets at the Hit 'n' Run shows, so buyers and sellers may have to meet up at the venue before the show.
