Prince parties with Ed Norton and Gisele

Prince is mentioned in the gossip column of the New York Daily News.
http://www.nydailynews.co...6734c.html

Ed Norton stepped out again Tuesday without Salma Hayek. Having recently had a boys' night out with Woody Harrelson at L.A.'s 40 Deuce burlesque show, the actor joined Gisele Bundchen, Prince and Dean Winters in celebrating the third anniversary of Lotus in the Meatpacking District here. The party had a Thai theme, but some of the guests got a little more than they bargained for. In the spirit of seedy Patpong Road, some of the dancers were booked from transvestite talent agency Screaming Queen ...

Why would a JW be hanging out at a burlesque show?!?

I guess I'm going to have waste time starting a whole thread about this at the Religion forum, but I really don't know anything about the JW religion, and I don't really feel like researching it right now.
But what I do know is that you guys are always going on and on about what P is not allowed to do anymore now that he's a JW...you practically have me thinkin that all P does is sit around, reading the Bible all day, afraid to think any sinful thoughts, can't curse, wear sexy clothes, grow his hair,or do anything fun anymore, gee, does he even like sex anymore?
Yet I now read that he's hanging out at clubs, looking at burlesque shows, which doesn't sound any different then what he was doing before!

He didn't go to a burlesque show. If you re-read it, it says that Norton recently partied with Woody Harrelson at the show. Norton and Prince were at a club called Lotus.

I was going to post this same thing as I was baffled by the fact that some people don't read for detail and had painted a picture of Prince sitting at a girlie show. This is how rumors are started.

For the record I saw something on television about that club and the girls don't get nude. They get very close but they don't go nude (Not that P was there).

Having been a JW, I still have my doubts that P has been baptized and fully integrated into the JW religion. There is no way he'd be "allowed" to do half the things he sings about. It's one thing to swear off cursing etc. It's absolutely another to live the lifestyle of a true JW. I know, I've been there (and am not anymore). I'll have to ask my mom what the deal is. Anyway, what P does is his business. I just hope he's happy...

What-what-WHAT?! Is this a joke or did Prince and LaRue actually "hang out"?

I've worked with a JW and had family members who were JWs. I do believe he is very much into trying to make his life more positive, but I have my doubts about him being fully into it as well. I would guess that there were things about the religion that already fit into his own belief system, but he's just not a follower. I think Larry introducing him into it helped refocus his life, but in the end Prince always does what Prince wants to do. I'm sure he's not going to these parties toting Watchtowers.

At LOTUS in NYC... there is a Celeb Wall in the Kitchen... I saw the Chef being interviewed and he showed the "Wall" where Artists, Actors, Musicians (those that rate) are asked to autograph their kitchen wall... Well the person interviewing the chef asked "Who is the most famous person that has not been here that you would MOST like to have come to the kitchen at Lotus & meet & sign your wall?"
Without hesitation, the chef said "PRINCE !"

That was on the Food Network... (yes, I watch the Food Network!)

American History X is one of the single most overrated films ever.

Norton was great in Fight Club, but otherwise he just annoys the hell out of me (as in Death to Smoochy).

I'm looking forward to seeing 25th Hour though...not for Norton but for Spike's direction.

Anyway...just my 2 cents. biggrin

American History X is probably one of the most important films to come out off stinking Hollywood in the past decade.
I am baffled by your suggestion that it's overrated

I thought it could have been so much better than it was. They tried to resolve years of hate in one day, which is just impossible. The source of Ed Norton's extreme racism was rolled up into one dinner scene where his father spouts off, and this just needed more exposition. The film is good, but it could have been amazing, given the heavy and important subject matter.
The director actually wanted his name removed from the film because he thought the editing needed more work...and it definitely did.

Perhaps in the past decade...but certainly not when you look at the past decades of film. "Do the Right Thing" dealt with race in a much more effective and thought-provoking matter than AHX, in my opinion.
Overrated does not mean bad...I did think the film had important things to say, and that it said some of these things very well. I was just disappointed because I think it had more to offer, since racism is such a volatile and relevant issue.

I didn't mean to open a can o' worms, I know a lot of people think this is one of the greatest films ever. I just don't share this opinion. biggrin
Peace.

I`m a very happy married man, and I have gay friends. We all may have one or two and just don`t know it. This is whats wrong with the world today."Can`t we just all get along" I could care less what Prince does just as long as he keeps pumping out the hits. This is supposed to be about the music. - well I agree with you...some things are resolved very fast, but compared to 95% of the stuff that Hollywood produces every year, this movie is a classic. I liked the actors, the dialogs, etc. It could have been only a little bigger
