Tenth Cleveland report

Well, like everyone else I think I was a little disappointed with the reviews
of the shows, more because they were poorly written. PD said "Purple Rain"
was cut short? What, from fourteen to ten minutes? I also think some of the
criticism is deserved. Some of the medlies worked well (especially the
opening set and then slow jam set) while I agree that Najee was spotlighted
way too much. I also thought the concert lost a little focus toward the end
with the jam. But braveness to Prince for ending that way, too. I was not
disappointed with the show at all, especially since it was my first Prince
show. As for the afterparty, I was bummed because we left the dance floor
(on the upper level) about ten minutes before Prince came in. Once we were
downstairs, we weren't allowed back up. Damn luck. Then we realized it
wasn't about the star thing and took off at about 2:30am. And about JAne
Scott: that brave old woman was standing the crowd (way overpacked club) and
the heat. For a visual for y'all, she looks like the old woman with big
glasses in the Old Navy commercials. Anyway, good show, happy to "Ballad of
Dorothy Parker" which had a great vibe and I though the show was more
energetic than any of those reviews let on. Enjoy it in the cities to come.
