Prince finally has announced details of a new album/DVD, "Live at the Aladdin," which is supposed to be available any day now from his NPGmusicclub.com. A new $25 membership fee will get you early samples. Prince ended his tour at the Las Vegas casino last December, with Maceo Parker and Sheila E. in the band and Nikka Costa as a guest. There is also an all-new Prince disc in the works with four tracks: "north," "south," "east" and "west." . . .

What the fuck!? Is he gonna release it NOW just after everybody ordered their News CDs??? Then we´ll have to pay shipping and handling twice! Why couldn´t he have released them simultaneously so that we could order them together? Then maybe he could have offered a "package deal" even, with a slightly lower price for both DVD + CD.

Oh well, maybe the ordering process of News will be so delayed that they will have time to stick the DVD in the parcel as well...

for quite some time. It is just a 'journalist' doing some deduction. The last
thing I heard was that they are still talking to some companies to handle
the distribution. I do agree that NPGMC is covered in clouds when it comes to
facts, and I could have written that news-article without being a member.

Actually, its The Work Pt.1 performance not 1+1+1=3 from Vegas. The one available on MSN sucked, it was an edit and the sound wasn't as good as the one released on npgmusicclub.com. You'd be better off getting the one from his site.

I think everyone is forgetting that it was announced a week ago that the DVD will be released "later in the year". Its true that there will be a release in the next few days, yes its called N.E.W.S, but its not the DVD. The day the media report the fact is the day I would say Madonna has a good voice.

Lets be honest here, I very much doubt Prince will put the two main perks of the club on release witin a few days of each other. I imagine the DVD to drop around September. So no one is getting "screwed" as those who seem convinced that every time there is an announcement about a release people who wont join the club scream Prince is ripping everyone off.

like i used 2 get shirty about the fact that early on it was all graphics & hardly any new music.
but that was at that moment... i knew chances were that everything would come good.

This argument about a "double fee" only makes sense if NEWS and the DVD are gonna be shipped around the same time. As Goldie stated it very unlikey that the NPGMC will release both at the beginning of the membership year giving members nothing to look forward to. Moreover, I can't imagine anyone who's willing to join the club would be content to wait around until the DVD came out later to order both NEWS and the DVD together to save a couple of bucks (yeah I kow it's more internationally).
