More from the Bamboozled premiere

I almost forgot i met chuck d at the bamboozled premiere.
I asked him how was it working with prince he said it was cool and probably
work with him again. Well i met sandra st. Victor (formerly of the family
stand) who co wrote soul sanctuary with prince on the emancipation album. She
was not too thrilled with prince . She said he was so strange and she did
not feel un comfortable with him. There must have been more she say too much
except i quote " if work with prince again he will have to pay me 500,000
dollars upfront". It also seems that prince does not know how to pay his
people who do work for him on time. A friend of mines who is a muscian told
me one of his buddies who plays saxophone, played on the newpower soul cd.he
was supposed to go on tour with prince, but prince only wanted to pay him
1500 hundred dollars a week. The guy quit because he felt he was worth more.
He played with sting and sting was paying him 5,000 a week. The guy sued
prince for his money which was owed to him. They happened to run into each
other at a club in newyork right in the bathroom. Prince pretended like he
did not even notice him. Prince finally paid the guy his money which was
owed to him. Lets just hope prince be more professional with his bussiness
dealings.

Update: An anonymous reader adds:

In response to a recent post regarding a gentleman who was asked to play sax for Prince: I'm guessing here, but if I may be so bold, this sounds a bit like a former saxophonist for the Prince tribute band, Dayz of Wild. If this is the person in question, there are quite a few errors in this story. 1- Prince offered quite a bit more than $1500 a week to this gentleman for the gig with NPG. He also offered benefits and paid vacation time. 2- The gig was guaranteed to him as well as another member of the band, and when Prince learned of the sax player's demands, he withdrew his offer to both players; the sax player essentially ruined not only his own opportunity to play with Prince, but the other musician's (who was perfectly happy with Prince's offer)as well. 3- The previous post said that this gentleman went on to play with Sting. If this is the person I think it is, this is not true. He hasn't even played with Dayz of Wild much since then. I'm not kissing Prince's ass or anything, but I have seen people here get pretty upset when they're subjected to false info. On the other hand, this kind of trivial news may not even be deemed important enough to print. Either way, take it for what it is worth. Peace!
