I totally agree with you July. People treated Prince's house last year like it was an arena. Bottles everywhere, folks actually came high (on weed) or tried to sneak liquor in. I totally agree with your comparison to walking in to my house and taking some meat out of my refrigerator to give to my neighbors. HAVE SOME RESPECT PEOPLE!!

I was blown away by the behavior of some of the folks that said they loved Prince. YOU DON'T LOVE PRINCE HE HAS BECOME YOUR HOBBY! Trying to collect everything he has played is just weird... You want it just to say you have it. Like a Barbie doll or something. Prince is your hobby just admit it...

COULDN'T AGREE WITH YOU MORE!!! I went to the celly last year and I couldn't believe some of the people. People tried so damn hard to prove their Prince Fan Worthiness and show others up. I am so glad I became a fan late in the game. I can tell you I've only been a fan for a few years and i'm 25. No, I don't know all of the lyrics; No, I don't own any bootlegs; No, I don't want to make him a hobby like so many others do.

This one woman at the celebration was invited on the stage the sixth day. So, she shakes her thang and gets to experience something cool and special. Last day of the concert, she tries to go up there again, but unfortunately she isn't picked. She starts bitching about Prince picking some other girl just because she's skinny (the woman was quite overweight). She bitched about it and wouldn't shut up. This is also the same person who cut in line a few times and almost started fights with others because of her obsession with Prince. It was sick. So, I know what you're taking about, DearlyBeloved.

Look, I don't mind if people hope to meet the guy or something. I don't care if you're inspired by him either. We all have inspirational figures in our lives; people that we identify with somehow. I can tell you right now, I have been inspired by him, indirectly speaking of course. I have a personal little idea called "The 6 S's" which deall with Spirituality, Sentiment, Sensitivity, Sincerity, Sensuality, Sexuality, and Synergy. Long story short, those things I both love and struggle with I had been dealing with a lot right before I got into Prince. So, after listening to his music and seeing the talent he was, I could identify with the journey/struggle/(whatever you wanna call it). But it was genuine. If inspiration is genuine and NOT diluted with obsession or some other form of bias, then you got it goin' on. I'm not saying you can't get caught up in moments if you were at a concert and he talked to you and it made your day the rest of the day. We have all had our moments at some time in our lives. But blowing it out of proportion within your head (and ego) is a huge No-No! But obviously, people think they're somehow closer to that individual because of it, as showcased by a good handful of people at the celebration. (I couldn't tell you how many people were kissing others asses just to gain favoritism and all that other crap).

Genuine = Bein' Real

By the way, I just hope these converted JW's find themselves doing it for themselves and God, not doing it because it makes them closer to their "maker" (Prince). I guess that's the good thing about JW religion. You can't fake it for long. In the end it comes down to that moment where you're going to make the step or not. Besides, Prince won't be there by your side while you're knocking on doors trying to spread the love. You'll have two kinds of people that aren't cool: those that are using faith/religion to get closer to their man, Prince (how ironic since JW's stress the need to worship God and not man); and those that crucify those genuine believers of the JW faith but get ripped on just because Prince somehow, GENUINELY keep in mind, inspired them to take another look. Those that aren't phased by the criticisms as well as can carry/spread their faith without ever having to depend on that irrational P-Factor will surely & obviously be the true believers.

Iknow I went all over the place, but DearlyBeloved just said something well worth mentioning and I just had to express a few things that I simply wanted to mention in relation to it. I'm just glad I can be at peace not knowing I'm a damn nut-case like some P-fans out there who lose themselves in the purple haze. Keep it real, peoples. AND ONCE AGAIN, NICE POST, DEARLYBELOVED.

Wow!!!

's amazing how a simple 'news story' can stir up such emotion from U all.

Now what if there's no Celebration but something else greater and unexpected at a different point in time?!?!

It's also nice to see y'all giving props to your peers here.

Can you Imagine if every 'idol' that walks amongst us had similar values and shared them with their fams like Prince does?!?

pity most of them don't use their power of influence 4 positivety like he does.

Finess

was it really worth u posting tha same thing 4 times in a row? biggrin, well talk about Fanatics or well Psycho's there's tha story of a "prince stalker" who was banging on someone's door saying "let me in i know prince is in there"

and nonetheless the police were called and she was either arrested and removed from the property. i think people who take PRINCE. way too personal and actually believe that

Prince is sending these space cadets "messages of telepathy" to come to paisley park and help him rule LOL...again if i was him. id have sniper towers and dogs roaming tha premises at night and security checkpoints daily. to be safe LOL. please people stop tha obsession and respect Prince as an individual, a fellow human being and one of The Creator's children, and musician. he's not tha messiah people. smile

EXACTLY! Ain't nothin' wrong with Genuine Inspiration. In the end, who's foolin' who? God bless him for doing that. By the way, maybe Prince can start talking to Jose Canseco about Jehovah. God bless that guy, too...I hope he sees the light himself. No matter how rich or poor people are, like or dislike the person, ya gotta pray for the fallen. Nice post Orlando & Finess. Keep it real, peoples.

he probably looks JUST like a little light Larry now, but who didn't c that coming?

that was the LAST of Prince left, his hair.
the Prince we knew is truly DEAD, and wanted 2 die. Let him. ...what phoenix is going 2 rise from his ashes?

the $25. NPGclub may simply b reflexes from the dying.
nothing u do at this point would surprise me Prince, eye got a few thoughts about it up my wing!

On the history channel documentary on Hair Trends... They featured Prince in the segment on Jeri Curls...
They said he had one in the film Purple Rain... But It was not a Jeri Curl. Just a Wave and Roll... mr.green
Prince should braid his hair... 8) Do they even make Jeri Curl kits anymore?... confuse hmmm

Yeah, I heard a few unpleasant remarks regarding some of her actions. We were cordial to each other, but some people who I went to the celly with had similar complaints (first hand of course), and they're not obsessive nor are they liars. Hopefully, some people will get a grip next time. We all must remember that they represent the minority. Keep it real, peoples.
