What a $7 performance! He was already playing when i got in at 2:20 am. The
pretty man, morris, and new drummer (i think he said his name was john
blackwell)& new sax /flute player were up playing a jam,(prince on keys)then
rhonda smith joined them on bass, larry graham then came up 2 play, prince &
larry both were playing bass funky but loud damn!
Kirk johnson joined them 2, they ran through a funky version of the undertaker
mixed with days of wild. They did a little bit of a love bizare (no words) they
did a song apparently larry wrote (i'm not sure on that) the lyrics were mostly
spoken, it was slow at first then it kicked, they shot video footage all night,
the white rapper, & kip did that (there are times when u need a friend...) song
that ended the night. Prince then asked if people would stay 2 be in the video,
the dj played (approx. 1/2 Hour) a couple of cuts from the new album, i heared
golden parachute & get u high? (I think that's the name) they sounded good 2
me. They took brief footage of people dancing & then the lights came on about 5
am.
