A couple of weeks ago, I got an e-mail from a guy named Matt, a guy
I really respect. He took me to task, the way I took Prince to task
here a couple of months ago -- which I must say I regret a bit now
because even though I meant it, even though he and I had a spirited
tete-a-tete about it out at Paisley Park the day it was published, he's
done enough, and I don't believe anyone has the right to demand
something of someone's artistic process or arc, because that is an
extremely complicated, personal journey.
