I just can't understand: Prince could easily find a super webdesigner and for free if tried to get the best in life! I just saw the flash space-intro, and, well, it's just bad taste! The letters don't go from the same point: it's too bad, to cheap and almost crap… and that blue button! A secretary would have done the same job! You click and then you suppose that you are going to get in a space ship! Logical. Not at all: it's a palace! Does this picture come from an old CD-rom or what? This is just too old and untasty work! I would have done a wonderfull picture if Prince asked me, and for free! And what about that "join" page: brrr… God, is it that the 'BIG THING"? Come on, it's ugly! Remember: Loveforoneantoher.com npgmusicclub.ocm first version That's was fantastic at that time, and very pro! Not that cheap! I already regret the flashy previous site! Guess Prince will get a real 2003 manager to kick his ass! If Prince needs a real webdesigner, he can surf on: www.calhoune-square.fr www.pureviolet.org www.housequake.com www.cybersingle.com I agree, but for free? Naw, quality should be rewarded. Pixius seems professional. But the graphics, you know the rooms and environment are awesome in the NPGMC. Just that the intro stuff was probably done in the end very hastily. There seems to be alot of work and effort placed on the 3D environments which again are amazing work, but little thought into the typography and overall initial homepage flow and design. And I'm not talking about the rooms or the map or whole environment of the NPGMC.com site, no just that typography is design in many ways and it's Crucial. If done right it can ENHANCE the design and experience of the rest of the artwork! Like a cohesive element that elevates and frames other elements. In certain rooms I've seen though it's ALL well done, fabulous effort to make a great experience for fams. I'm appreciative for that and for the price, heck it's a great deal! A CD ROM would cost you about the same to join plus all the perks and future perks. The intro Flash is rather un-reflective of the rest of the site. Just doesn't capture the essence of the site and seems odd and ambigious. If anything, the user thinks it's going to be some galaxy thing with breaking superstitions along the way...? Could be showing casual surfers how awesome and great the site REALLY is. And again, the guards with the swords pointing them at you if you don't log-in with the right password...I still don't know about that. Anyway... /// [This message was edited Sun Apr 20 15:37:44 PDT 2003 by FlyingCloudPassenger]

Am I the only one who didn't receive this e-mail? I hope the other messages make it to me. I don't want to miss out on any important stuff. I guess I'll just have to keep checking the org to make sure to keep up! [This message was edited Sun Apr 20 15:44:54 PDT 2003 by 319]

I hate to miss out on important info too. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I didnt get the email and I cant access the site at all. I just get a blank screen.
Funnily enough, I wouldn't expect anything better from Prince and his ramshackle operation. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

I got the e-mail and I was impressed that a letter of such nature went out(a company apologizing for their error). My only concern is that they "underestimated" the popularity of the site!! The man has been around since the '70's, has fans all over the world, and what did they think that because he hasn't had a number one hit for a while only 2-3 people would go to the site??? I had no problems accessing the site, but I did voice my opinion for all the other fans who are experiencing technical difficulty.
p.s. Spelling does matter (I wish I was a better speller)

The email from pixius was a nice gesture.
If they ever visited this site, they probably know that there are a few paranoids who believe that the NPGMC is part of a vast conspiracy to rip them off and the people at pixius just wanted to let folks know that the problems are computer related and they are working on them. Not just on this site, but in everday dealings with people you run into those who are never satisfied and complain about everything. To some people, anything short of perfection is complete failure. If you can't steer clear of those types of people, just be glad you're not them. Life can be stressful enough, but if you're always sweating the small stuff, it's probably an absolute hell. It also helps to keep things in context. The fact that there are glitches in the new NPGMC site is not the biggest concern of my day. If it was, I think I'd have to be very concerned with the state of my life.

Its good that they are on the lookout for problem and that they are fixing them. /BlueAngel NPG Music Club Members Dear Members, This letter is in regards to the problems that some of you have experienced with the new NPG Music Club web site. Pixius accepts full responsibility for these problems and this is not a reflection on NPG nor Prince. Pixius apologizes for any inconveniences you might experience and are working to resolve all issues. We underestimated the extreme popularity of the new NPG Music Club site. It is Pixius' desire to provide the NPG Music Club members with the best web site possible and in that vane have already taken steps to correct most of the problems. Pixius will continue to upgrade the site's performance, which will improve your personal experience as a member. We appreciate your comments as they help us make the NPG Music Club web site a wonderful experience for all members. Sincerely, Gary Duncan Regional Director Pixius [Personally, I feel if you're going to send out a letter to a lot of people, have someone who understands the difference between 'vein' and 'vane', read through it first. And maybe tone down the use of the word 'experience'. And while it's nice to SAY it doesn't reflect on Prince or the club, that's not how it works. It DOES reflect on them both. That's exactly why this letter was sent. Do you think fans are going to say "oh, Pixius sucks"? No--people are going to say "Prince/the NPGMC sucks for not getting a company who knows what they're doing, to build the site". Oh well, it's a nice gesture, anyhow... at least you can 'experience' their apology e-mail here if you couldn't get logged into the site -Ben] Hey, there were problems last year with the site as well. Only then we got zero communication. They were very prompt this time around in notifying customers of what's up. That is 100 times better than what was done in the past. So the folks over at Pixius can't spell and their servers seem to choke at high volumes. Maybe next time around Prince will start shopping for a new host. But right now it would be impractical to switch just as the new site launched.

Wow, you're sounding very petty there. "That...magic, the start of something revolutionary-the Minneapolis Sound, we should cherish it and not punish prince for not being able to replicate it."-Dreamshaman32

I don't think you guys understand the relationship. Samnation provides the content and Pixius (which is partnered with Infinitivity, by the way - see: http://www.pixiuscorp.com...us_inf.php) provides the internet service. Don't blame Pixius for the graphic design and don't blame Samnation for the poor service. Each have their own responsibilities.

we actually don't know who did the graphic design. it doesn't look like anything he's done before so maybe he got some new blood.

funny that Ben takes time out to hate on the music club in a post right above an apology about his own site being messed up. Must have a nice view in that glass house, Ben!

Anybody know how to access the new song 'Reflections' from the pool page? Is there actually a link there or is it just a prank?

Anybody know how to access the new song 'Reflections' from the pool page? Is there actually a link there or is it just a prank? I ran my mouse over the pool and clicked. A thing pops out of the water and then the song starts to download. Then, on future visits, all I do is click and it plays immediatly as it is saved.

Thanks Therapy.
Just checking: we are talking about the pool page that one is taken to after the NPGMC gates and fiery swords, right? Or is there perhaps another pool page that one only accesses after joining the club?

WHAT IS WRONG W/ THE NPGMC SITE? IS IT MY COMPUTER OR NPGMC??? I WANT TO SEE THESE NEW VIDEOS FROM THE ALLADIN SHOW HELP!??? Message: It should work now, just log in again when it asks for your username and password. Keep in mind that you need Windows Media Player 9.0 if you're using Windows, and WMP 7.1 if you're using MacOS. Download it and install if you don't already have it. WMP 8.0 for Windows works too, but you need the WMP 9.0 codecs installed. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, and it doesn't work, click the link on the Cyberlinks page to download WMP 9.0 and install it, then try again.) Details: There were problems transferring the session authentication credentials to the domain the media files were stored in, from the behavior I saw. So they've moved the files to a different location and reintiated authentication. If you know what you're doing, WMP 8.0 for Windows will also work. Installing just Windows Media Encoder 9.0, and not the Media Player, works for me. The WMP 9.0 UI is just horrid, so avoid upgrading. i think it is an error connecting to the servers. i have wm player 9.0 and still can't see the clips. it tried to open and connect to the media, then nothing happens.
