RZA (Wu-Tang) comments on Prince On Wu-Tangs "Forever" album, the RZA expresses his views on the so called "fake ni**ers" on an interlude (first track disc 2) -
"...for the last year, theres been a lot of music comin' out (the s**t's been weak), you know what i'm sayin' - a lot of ni**as tryin' to take hip hop and make that s**t R&B, Rap & Bulls**t, you know what i'm sayin, or funk - f**k that, this is MCing right here, this is Hip Hop. We're gonna bring it to you in the purest form...to my people across the world...this is true hip hop your listening to in the purest form. This ain't no R&B with a white ni**er taking the a loop...thinking it's gonna be the sound of the culture. All that playin' dressin' up, acting like it's some kind of fashion show...this is hip hop right here, lyrics...and now every one wants to change their motherf**kin' name..." I recently read an old article in "Hip-Hop-Hooray" magazine that the RZA was refering to people/groups like "Soul II Soul", "En Vogue" and "Prince". | |
