There is a reference to Prince in the August 2000 issue of Essence magazine (page 64) in an article about Chris Rock's soon-to-be released movie, "I Was Made to Love Her". The following quote is taken from that article:



"When it came to choosing the film's leading lady, Rock says, "I always wanted Regina King for the role. She has a realness -- like someone from around the way," he says of his costar, whom he challenges to rounds of Prince trivia between scenes."
