I attended the opening of a new nightclub called MR E's (named for Pete Escovedo) in Alameda, CA over the weekend. The special opending guest was Sheila E. and her band, The Fifth Element which included Rhonda Smith on bass. They played an incredible show including a medley of When Doves Cry, Gilrs and Boys, and The Glamerous Life. At the end of the show, the encore was another version of The Glamerous Life complete with MR E, Shiela's mom, and I believe one of her brothers.
