Maceo Parker just played at the Montreal Jazz Festival on July 3.
A friend went and said it was great! I asked how many
people were there and he estimated 8,000 or so!! And to
think 4 days before that I saw him put on a show with
50 or 60 people! And Prince jamming with him to boot!

I was at the Toronto Jazz Fest concert by Maceo. It took place on July 2,
2000 at a free venue outdoors. This was the first year the Jazz Fest ran
an outdoor venue like that. Although Maceo is always a good draw in past
years' at the Fest, this year organizers were shocked by him drawing an
estimated 20,000 people to the venue. It was absolutely packed.



The show was fantastic, and he played covers of Baby Knows and TGRES. He
thanked Prince twice, and after his guitarist's solo during Baby Knows he
asked, "So how do y'all like that Paisley guitar?"
