Finally, this is put to rest...Glastonbury wouldn't have suited the current Prince at all.

thank the lord! now i can stop the bloody mind games with myself over whether i should go or not. whew what a relief.
i think i'll go to V2003.

by the way, not that most of you would care but i work at a London venue and we have been hearing that a lot of the american acts scheduled to play in the UK this year are pulling out of their shows. already we have had george Thorogood pull out of two shows and possibly 3 doors down.

It could be that after two years of running this club, with the umpteen other projects that he's been involved with, he could be taking a publicity break or something like that.

Let's see. It seems like all's quiet on the Prince front. It seems like it gets this way every time he's in the midst of a serious recording project. As he said on Oprah, "Hours and hours and hours away... (in the recording studio, no doubt). Don't any of you give up on this - it's clear to me that he's up to something again, and if it's anything like what came to us the last time (The Rainbow Children), then it will be worth the wait.

Even my mates who are not really big fans are very disappointed.
I understand what Bart is saying. If he knocked out a greatest hits set,then he would be recieved well. If he started his religious chants(which he would!!) then i could see people leaving the crowd. It's enough to put even religious prince fans off, let alone the public.

I think it's a shame. I was going to come from South Africa to see him at Glasto. As for 'preaching' to the cynical Brits, sure I see your point, but I don't think they would have laughed at something as beautiful as 'The Ladder'. Prince's music comes from a deep human truth that is capable of moving even the most cynical of cynics.

The Glasto crowd would welcome P with open arms but the headlining slot on the Sunday night is gaining a reputation for being a kind of revival slot and so they would expect a greatest hits set from someone playing then.

We all know that P would not compromise and do a greatest hits set and so in the light of this the Glasto crowd would be disappointed.

P's set list as per ONAL would suit one of the smaller stages and would garner critical acclaim but he would never play a small stage.

So there you have it. P is unlikely to play Glasto. Ever.

Damn it! At least I didnt get my glastonbury tickets yet

Can I just say - this 'message' from NPGMC sounds far too direct to be genuine. Are we sure this isnt a hoax?

every email ive ever had off npgmc (and theres far too many times to mention where they havent replied at all!) has started with "high" followed by a plethora of other princebonics and ditherings. that email above sounds far too professional for npgmc to have written it

oh well, :I:'ll B playing down there anyway and :I: guess there is Dolly Parton!!!
