Hey guys! Just wanted to give you a recap on the Sons of Almighty chat last night!



Thank you, thank you, thank you to all that joined the Sons of Almighty chat last night! All in all I believe there were about 40 of you there! What an awesome turnout!
Firstly, I checked in with the old HTML room about 6:25 to see who was there and most people were waiting for it to start. I said hi and that I would be back to let them know if the HTML room would not be the room it would be in. I contacted Ben right after and literally in the space of 10 minutes he created the SOA chat room and it was ready to go! Sonny and Michael showed up about 7:10, fashionably late I might add. Everything was good to go, but I wanted to log on as SOA's handle and then my computer did an illegal something or other and booted me out! Needless to say, I couldn't get back on for about 20 minutes! I was so embarrassed, cuz here are Michael and Sonny patiently waiting and I felt like a big old idiot because I couldn't get my computer to work! So, I re-booted it and got in. We entered the room about 7:30 and there were all these "SOA,SOA!!!" chants going on. Michael and Sonny were like, "Wow, are they chanting our name?". I said that it appeared to be so. They were very impressed at the number of people that showed up. I on the other hand was scared because I had no idea how to handle this thing.



We scrolled down and read a few questions and then someone commented on the people asking in the order of the log-in at the bottom of the page. (I think Ben made the suggestion). Anyway, we thought that was a great idea. I tried to get everyone to be quiet but I think the excitement was just too much. And so the barrage began! It was chaotic, fun and sometimes scary! Michael and Sonny wanted everyone to be able to at least ask one question, but I know we missed a few and I apologize! (My hands were numb by the end of the chat!) There were a few people on-line that truly were interested in knowing about SOA, how they got started, when are they touring, etc. But the majority of them were just asking about Prince and Prince related questions. Although SOA's goal was to talk about themselves and the band, they realized the curiosity was too much for the people to handle and answered questions about Prince, working with him, what they thought about him, etc. Toward the end it had gotten so chaotic that we just started scrolling down looking for questions they were interested in answering. Tommy came in the room about 8:30, but left shortly after. I let him answer his own questions and didn't really keep up with what people were asking him. Michael was really concerned that we were not going to be able to answer every question. Also, people were asking questions toward the end that had already been answered at the beginning.



All in all I think it went great. We tried to be as diplomatic as possible and I know everyone did not get their turn to ask a question. If it wasn't for the fact they had to go play at Bunkers, we could have easily been there for a few more hours. Some of the comments made had Micheal and Sonny ROFL! They were great to hang out with. I don't get to do that very often with them and it was a pleasure I must say. They are a riot to listen to! As are all good friends, they have their inside jokes that only they get, but it's so fun to hear them howl!!!



So, Sons of Almighty are definitely interested in doing this again! They found it very beneficial and positive! Maybe next time we'll just have to make it a 4 hour deal!
Again, thanks to Ben, Kevin and Matt for hooking this up! You guys are the BEST!!! We look forward to doing this again. (Maybe early September when they release the album)
