Angie Stone, stone cold doing it


Angie Stone was in my town (Washington) the other day. She wore it out. The Washington Post fell in love with her and her performance. She's so hot now that Angie is doing a duet with the artist formerly known as Prince. He saw her show in Minneapolis, sent a private limo, picked her up, took her out to his studio and jammed with her until 4 a.m.---he and Larry Graham, that is. That night, they played everything from Stevie Wonder stuff to her current hit, "No More Rain." Prince wanted to do "No More Rain" with Angie that night. He even played her his new stuff, which is like the raw Prince. She said it was so good it was ridiculous. He's cutting a duet with her for his album and one for her next. Prince's album, Rave un2 the Joy Fantastic, only sold 600,000 units. He didn't tour. That always hurts. I know didn't want to do any interviews with a tape recorder.



Beyonce is not hooking up with the Artist


There's a rumor going around that Beyonce from Destiny's Child will be writing a song with Prince. But I spoke to her father, Matthew Knowles, who told me that's not true at all. He said, "Who told you that?"



What's Prince's love doing?


The Artist isn't the only one who's busy on a project. His other half, Mayte, has been in the studio with my good friends, Bowlegged Lou & Full Force. Seems that she's gonna be doing some singing herself. Can't wait to hear this!
