In this months Q music magazine, Prince is listed as the 21st most outrageous star ever.It opens with these words- "Eccentric,reclusive and obsessed with the colour purple, funk twerp Prince inhabits a different world to the rest of the human race."The Kevin Smith story is mentioned and in the HE DID WHAT? section it explains(unsuprisingly) about the name change. I expected him to be futher up, but looking at some of the other stars such as Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis and Michael Jackson, Prince has done well to get a mention!!!

I started a thread about this almost 2 weeks ago, and got no replies about it if I remember!!

To me this is old news!!!

If this piece in Q is a send up then fair enough but when I read "Funk twerp" I feel angry

Seems a bit harsh from a mag that is usually supportive of Prince.

I don't think it was being malicious.The whole article has a light-hearted vibe to it.

I too don't feel the mag was being malicious either. It was a fun piece and any light relief is always welcome, particularly when it comes to a veritable bunch of deranged lunatics such as the ones that made the list.

However, the very hilarious but still hypothetical situation where Prince orders a camel at three o'clock in the morning in the middle of winter in Minessota (and Kevin Smith DID in fact stress it was hypothetical) ended up being portrayed as actual fact.

Just like Q's "Lazy Mutha***a" piece they directed at Prince some time ago, I felt this latest one was tabloid-like and a little below the belt.
