Launch article on copyright law (Prince mention) A recent launch.com article mentions Prince's involvement with artists who are against the proposed amendment to the US Copyright Act. This would make the music an artist gives to a record company a work for hire, forever owned by the record company.
http://www.launch.com/Fea...entId=6774 Excerpt: "As a result of the testimony, six congresspeople on the Copyright Subcommittee have joined the artists who are calling for the repeal of last year's amendment, including Democrats John Conyers (Michigan) and Howard Berman (California), and California Republican Mary Bono, the widow of Sonny Bono. Besides Henley and Crow, other major performers who support the change back include Billy Joel and Prince." | |
