Last night at The Front, where DJ Wolf was spinning Prince tunes, the artist himself showed up! A silver cadillac pulled in front of the club about 11pm and Aaron and another bodyguard got out and cased the joint. They cleared off a table in the back, presumably for Prince. About a half an hour later a white limosine pulled up. DJ Wolf saw that he was getting out and immediately put on Pretty Man. Prince entered The Front with a mysterious lady friend and proceeded to the table that Aaron had prepared for him and his guest. Walking across the floor with his white cane tapping to Pretty Man was an exciting sight for those in attendance! DJ Wolf then went into a hyper remix of Come On. The energy was high as people were dancing on the dance floor. Prince got a little comfortable himself and started tapping his cane to the tune, My Name Is Prince, which DJ Wolf spun next. (Wonder how he felt to hear that at a club that is not his own after the whole name change thing?) After only being in the club for 15-20 minutes he left with his lady friend and drove off into the night. Will this be a regular occurence? Who knows? But the people that went last night were truly honored!



For those of you that remember, Bunkers used to be a regular place to see Prince when Dr. Mambo's Combo played there. (They are now known as the Legendary Combo). Rumor has it that Bunkers is where he found Michael Bland. Could he have been casing the place for a new DJ? Hmmmmm. I guess only time will tell.



For those that are interested, The Front is located at 15 4th Street NE next to Ground Zero. Coming from St. Paul, you can take University all the way down to The Front. It actually turns into 4th Street around the U area. It is on the right hand side as 4th Street dead ends into 1st Avenue North. For those coming from Minneapolis, take Hennepin through downtown over the Hennepin bridge. 4th Street is the 4th street down. Make a left onto 4th Street NE, (it's a one way) and it is directly on your right hand side. Hope to see more of you there!
