The Prince Press Conference... Finally. 5/19/00. 7:55am
Howard has been promoting this Prince press conference
thing all week but he just got to it today. Prince held a
press conference to announce the fact that he's no longer
going to use the symbol that he has been using for the past
few years. He'll now go back to being called Prince.
Howard sent over a new intern by the name of Kevin to ask
some questions. It was Kevin's first day so it was pretty
wild for him. Howard played a little bit of the press
conference before he got to Kevin's questions. Prince
rambled on about his name change and eventually took
questions from the press. Kevin's first question was
''Who would win in a fist fight between you and Michael
Jackson?'' There was a lot of laughter from the press and
Prince himself. He said ''Michael's not a fighter, he's a
lover..'' and joked about it for a couple of seconds. A
short time later Kevin got off his second and final
question ''Why were you such a sissy in 'Purple Rain'?''
That brought the press conference to a screeching halt.
They announced that the event was over and took Prince
away. Kevin said they asked him to shut down his equipment
before he was able to ask anymore questions. Howard thanked
Kevin and moved on.
