Report on Friday night Paisley jam

The doors opened around 1:30 in the a.m. A crowd of about 100 people were let inside for a $7 donation (which will be increasing to $14 from now on). The crowd eventually doubled to around 200 people.

Although the stage was set up most people were spread out dancing; that is until Prince, Morris, and Kirk took the stage around 2:00.

They opened with the loop to "Everyday People" which lead into a full rendition of "Forever in My Life" with Prince inviting everyone to sing along. The band then went into a beautiful version of "waiting in Vain" by Bob Marley. During this song Larry showed up. He looked like he had just woken up as he was wiping the sleep out of his eyes. After he got on stage the band then went back and performed "Everyday People".

Prince then asked Greg (the fat dread-locked guy) to invite people onstage to dance. A quick side note: can't believe that Prince associates with Greg because he is the biggest jerk that I have ever met. He is rude and insensitive (I once saw him physically push a 10 year old girl out of the way so he could be in the front row) and no one likes him. We are forced to put up with his behavior and his bad smell because somehow he is in the inner-circle. Anyway, the people on stage kind of distracted from the show, but the people who are dancing always seem to have a blast and a memory to last forever.

The band then went into the new song "Peace" which was funky, but probably not all that great of a song. It reminded me of "U will be souled".

Prince then went into some Nine Inch Nails type electronics from his keyboard before asking the crowd for requests. People were yelling out some interesting choices like "Electric INtercourse" and "Moonbeam Levels" Prince finally chose to play "Adore". He only sang the chorus, but he was dead on and it was definately a highlite.

The band also did "The Jam" and "Groove On" before finally playing a half-hour rendition of "Mad" Prince interluded this song with the theme from the "Beverly Hillbillies" and the chant London Bridges. He also tried to do Jack and Jill, but he didn't know the words.

The show lasted just under 2 hours.

Spanky Clean sorry we missed you, but we understand that you were busy in Dallas.

I may have forgotten something in the setlist because it has been a couple of days. If I made any mistakes I'm sure I will hear about it. A good time was had by all. Hopefully since they are now charging more money it will mean more shows.
