Mavis Staples And Morris Day To Tour With The Funk Brothers The Funk Brothers, the famed backing studio band from Motown Records' heyday, picked up two Grammys for best compilation soundtrack album and best traditional R&B vocal performance with Chaka Khan.
They'll follow that success up with a 17-date tour in the U.S. that begins on April 3 in Washington, D.C. with four accompanying singers, Joan Osborne, Mavis Staples, Maxi Priest and Morris Day (The Time). http://www.canoe.ca/JamGr...s-sun.html | |

Check out the documentary, "Standing in the Shadows of Motown." It's the story of the Funk Brothers and the soundtrack is what they won their Grammys for.
