Ratrace on Illegal Aliens CD This may be old news...
Illegal Aliens, a German fusion/rock band led by drummer Marco Minneman, included "Ratrace" (aka "Welcome to the Ratrace" or "Large Room with No Light") by Prince on their CD "International Telephone." I'm not sure when it came out, or where it's available, but I'm sure you can find it with a Google search, or maybe at Audiophile Imports. The track is actually fairly similar to the widely-bootlegged version that we know and love. They go a little more "out there" during the outro. Marco likes to play over the barlines and generally confuse the average listener. But it's pretty cool. More info: http://www.marcominnemann.com/ [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]

Hey, if Prince won't release it, somebody should! I find no reason to be precious about Prince songs. You don't have to listen to it if you don't want to. [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]

The song is called "In a Large Room With No Lights". Prince himself put to rest the speculation about this song's title on his site a couple of years back. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9) | |
