Emancipation mentioned in Ministry magazine In a column entitled "Best Forgotten", Ministry mentions Emancipation.
"TAFKAP, or Symbol, or Squiggle or Prince released Emancipation after acrimoniously freeing himself from Warners by calling himself The Artist... and painting 'Slave' on his cheek. We were led back then to believe that its three CDs contained all the good material he'd held back while extracting himself from the deal, but no. Prince's heyday was over and instead of powerfunk like "Cream," there was the nauseating "Betcha By Golly Wow!" and the inanity of "La, La, La Means i Love You." Even the global press launch and fancy vids couldn't hide the fact that the career of one of the 20th century's greatest musicians was at an end." | |
