trials that rock stars have to go thru to be "original" in their
"next look" by Patricia Reynoso.

" Just like the women, the men's grooming habits run the gamut
from low-maintenance to highly stylized, bordering on the bizarre.
Lenny Kravitz prefers to cut his own hair, stepping into the Stella
Salon for minor fixes only. "He doesn't do such a bad job," reports
Stella.



Then there's the diminutive Artist Formerly Known as Prince.
Although he's placed his hair in the very capable hands of another
single-monikered Oribe Stylist, Satoru, the Fifth Avenue salon
evidently doesn't earn the same trust. In preparation for his
arrival last fall, the Oribe staff was ordered to block out every
window to deter onlookers and ensure the singer's privacy. The staff complied, but upon entering the salon, the Artist
deemed it not to his liking and stormed out.



Since then, Satoru, who is said to be on call 24 hours a day, has
trimmed The Artist over in Bumble & Bumble's private VIP room,
a few blocks away."
