98 Degrees + Jordan Knight cover Prince

Pioneer Press's report of 24 May on the KDWB's Star Party refers to Jordan Knight covering I Could Never The Place Of Your Man, and 98 Degrees covering 1999.

Jordan Knight, who is also an old New Kid, promises to become huge -- his new music, produced by locals Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, looks to be far more charming and clever than McIntyre's, if not innovative. His set included the Timbaland-y breakbeats of ``Give It To You'' and a lovely ballad version of Prince's ``I Could Never The Place Of Your Man.''

98 Degrees, one of the newest boy bands, are a more street version of the Backstreet Boys. Backed by break dancers, they covered the Offspring's ``Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)'' and also referenced Eminem's ``My Name Is,'' Prince's ``1999'' and the Temptations' ``Can't Get Next To You.''
