Jerome Benton: Playwright Jerome Benton of The Time band has written a play called “I Want To Go To Heaven because hell’s Too Hot”. The play stars Jerome, David Whitfield and Cheryl (To Be Real) Lynn among others. The show is set to go this month from San Diego for 5 shows. He is hoping to get someone to finance it so he can take it to the East coast. Jerome said that he met Cheryl about 4 years ago in martial artist Billy Blank’s parking lot. They exchanged numbers and he sent her a script. She was pleased to be added to the cast. Music minds Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis did the music for the play. The play dives into the life of Nayal, a young stripper whose boyfriend is killed and she decides to turn her life around. Her father dies in the midst of all this drama and he is brought back to save his daughter from going to hell. They both end up going there and she begs God’s forgiveness.

Does Jerome star in this as well?
Sounds a bit like Under the Cherry Moon meets Graffiti Bridge I love Jerome's acting, especially in Graffiti Bridge where he looks at Morris (after they kiss in the dark) and then faints

I met him once after a Time gig & couldn't believe how cool he was: very personable & super nice. He seems to be very good-natured & I hope good things come from this. | |
