Thought this was interesting...

Saw it on the Prince boards from Lovesexy DC. Who knows if it's true but brilliant if it is...

>>>
Although the 2002 memberships included the albums mentioned above, this
may be Prince's answer to those who thought they didn't get their money's worth for the 2002 membership...the tracks made available for download were:

Copenhagen
Nagoya
Osaka
Tokyo
Emptyroom

For those that aren't hitting their forehead yet, it spells C-NOTE. And
for those of us that know, a C-NOTE is a bill, two fiddys, a hundred bucks, whateva.

One may interpret this as Prince's response to those who thought they
didn't get enough for what they paid for eek)

Just some ish to make ya scratch yo head and say "hmmm".

Ciao,
Gabino

I think we got a hundred dollars worth. The packaging of the box set is rather expensive. He won't sell a lot of those, as all the members already have it.

Nonsense. It is cheap and tacky. I've bought far better looking box sets for far less money, despite them being on "greedy" major labels. ONA Live is yet another in a long line of "let's get something expensive (i.e. highly profitable) out in time for Christmas" releases by Prince.

Go back to AMP Bart. You hate everything Prince puts out, yet you continue to buy it? Lame.

Well, I think the 2002 year was the one where Princey was more accessible to fans. He released a live album set, and some gifts from the tour. I hope he releases a DVD in 2003

That is your opinion!!! There are at least 2000 people on this board. Some of them are quite happy with the box. I am sure that all 55 reviewers on Amazon.com are happy.

You are just a big time hater and I think you are mental.

Well, maybe he did and maybe he didn't. But I did think that the titles were a little fucking queer (proper use of that word, it's not a homophobic slur. it doesn't not indight me as a fan of George W. 'i'm a racist pig muthafuka' Bush. or any such thing). So maybe that is what he was doing. It did seem like he was trying to get those who were dissenting to hold on. Too bad the songs weren't good enough to make it work.

Yet another in a "long line" of "expensive Christmas releases by Prince"??...WTF??...lol...Are you talking about TRC??...$14.99 is expensive??...lol..Or maybe you're referring to Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic, which was released in November for the insanely expensive price of...$14.99...

No??...Then maybe you're meaning when he released New Power Soul, which was released in June...and we all know June is THE month for releasing CDs for the Christmas rush...or perhaps you meant Chaos & Disorder, which was released in July, I believe...both of which were released in either spring or summer, and both which were released at the whopping, gargantuan price of...$14.99...

Maybe, though, you meant Crystal Ball, which if I'm not too mistaken was released around March...why, Christmas is practically around the corner...

Name those "expensive releases" which were released in time for Xmas, if you don't mind...Other than Emancipation--and I'm not sure you can call a $25 dollar 3-CD release "expensive"--I can't see this "long line" of astronomical Xmas releases you're referring to...
