Former band members performing with Maison Maison is performing at the Minnesota Music Academy's "Break The Ice Party", Thursday, April 20, 2000 at First Avenue. This performance is in conjunction with the Icebreaker Music Conference. It is going to be a treat to his Minneapolis fans as he is performing with his back up band that includes Michael Bland on drums, Mike Scott on guitar, Tommy Barbarella on keyboards and Sonny Thompson on bass. In addition, will be his back up dancers, headed by Victoria Willis his choreograhper and former choreographer for The Artist and NPG. I am extending an invitation to all of you in the area to come out and join the fun! The time is still to be determined and an addendum to this release is forthcoming.
Also on that day at First Avenue at 4pm, Maison is taping an interview with Robyne Robinson, host of "The Buzz". This will air on KMSP Channel 9 with air date forthcoming as well. This summer Maison will take the music he and producer/drummer Michael Bland have created to Los Angeles. Working and being backed by some of Minneapolis's best musicians, (Tommy Barbarella and Sonny Thompson former members of The Artist's band NPG, DJ Fafu of Puff Daddy's crew, Phil Solum of the Rembrandts, Alexander East of Sonic Boom of Love and Ev of 12 Rods), Maison's music is an exciting mix of House and Drum-n-bass with a strong pop delivery. The music has drawn some comparison to Madonna and The Artist and he has been referred to as the "John Lennon" for Electronica. Thank you for taking the time to read this release.
