Prince's 'The Rainbow Children' gets UK release I found this on a press release, thought it may interest some of ya
Prince, now reverting to using his original stage name, is scheduled to release his new studio album, 'The Rainbow Children' on the George V label. Reckoned to be amongst his most spiritual work, the album has thus far only been available as a US import. Prince was last heard from on 2002's three disc set 'One Night Alone Live', which featured much of the 'Rainbow Children' material in concert.

Let's hope so, or else this release is going to be nothing short of being pointless!
"Prince, now reverting to using his original stage name" - if this is a press-release issued by anyone to do with Prince, expect this person to be fired!!! So, Prince is, after all, just a stage name, huh? So his real name must be Victor! ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

i think this will just be a conventional uk release through an independent label - remember we never got it over here apart from thru import...

Yeah, I realise it was only ever an import but, my point is this; anyone who wanted the album will have already bought the import version, I really can't see this shifting many extra units! ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

I'll probably buy it (I'm in the UK).
Currently I only have the one track mp3 version. I've held off buying the official version for two reasons - 1/ it's an awfully expensive import for something I basically already have & 2/ it's in a crappy digipack that just isn't built to last (the CD equivalent of the awful cases Warner Bros uses on most of their DVDs). Hopefully the UK release will be in a different format, maybe in a proper jewel case.

Amazon.co.uk have it listed for a March 24th release at a price of £11.99 (compared to £13.99 for the import) and an identical tracklisting.
However... they have it listed as two discs!?!?!?! Probably just a mistake, I reckon.

:disbelief" I thought it was Vanity?!?!?!?!? "So strange that no one stayed at the end of the Parade..." - Wendy & Lisa's "Song About" on their 1987 self-titled album.
RIAA 'nuff said. | |

Wicked DAy - That's right - they are! But, they call it a "stage" name! A stage name is a name you use as an act - ie NOT your real name. This sort of mistake was common in the early 80's when people didn't know or believe that hir real name is Prince, but its odd to see this in 2003! ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

Rather then use the most expensive web based site in the world. try buying the (new) CD from Splashdvd, at £8.95 including delivery. Amazon is a bigger ripoff then the Virgin chain.

Got this from amazon today, regarding the 2 CD UK release;
Dear Customer Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk. Having contacted the relevant department, I can confirm that this was a catalogue error. There is only one disc and the track listings are correct online. Thank you for choosing Amazon.co.uk. Warmest regards Rajeena Johal Customer Service Amazon.co.uk We are all friends!
