This album IS a masterpeice! Prince is superb on the keyboards (Xemplify & Xpedition clearly demonstrates this).Comparing this work 2 "madhouse" is ludicrous. This is smooth, yet funky jazz at it's best! a pleasure 2 put 2 ones senses. Not overly jazzy, as 2 make it a messy/nervewrecking affair, so 2 speak. I am completely impressed with this work. I can listen 2 it ova & ova. Prince should make THIS gem available to all who appreciate really "no nonsense" jazz with prince's signature attached to make it unique and special with the right "touch" of funk. I think this may b his "new" work & direction he is going in. Fabulous. I just hope he hasnt given up singing, as i love his "beautiful" voice, but his instrumentals r awesome as well! Truly an entepreneur and trend setter! He IS the BEST, imho. I also must say 2002 in the NPGMC gave us all some great music, as well as many other "perks". He couldnt do better in 03, imo. He gave his "all". I feel U ppl who complained so much, not even halfway thru the year mind u, should feel proud of yourselves! NOT! And 2 the ones who feel prince gave us all this to scrape up some more members or money or to rectify the BBB suit, which is TOTALLY "off the wall", I doubt that! He does NOT need to have done ALL this! Thanx Prnce & the Band! BTW, Candy Dulfer plays that sax like it should be played. John & Rhonda R always dependably awesome. Vanessa mae added the "right touch" in her contributions. Maybe next time, what about a HARMONICA? thats 4 strictly blues though i believe...
